Claypot Chicken Rice, Kedai Kopi Pudu 168, Jalan Pudu

I am claypot chicken rice lover but I have no idea where to find a good one ever since the one I used to visit in Kepong Baru closed down. Boyfriend said this claypot chicken rice located at Jalan Pudu is famous and nice and he decided to bring me for a try. I was told that this stall has run their business for more than 30 years, it must be something for it to stand still until today. It's located at the end lot of the shoplot, right beside Maybank, and opposite Sek Yuen restaurant. This claypot chicken rice has no name but just claypot chicken rice in the 168 kopitiam, waze Maybank Jalan Pudu or Kedai Kopi Pudu Satu Enam Lapan you will be able to find it.
Pardon me for the bad photography below.

Maybank on the left and the claypot chicken rice is on the right.

This is it.

We ordered claypot chicken rice for 2 person, (RM10/person) and a small bowl of soup of the day. The strong aroma hit us when the claypot chicken rice was served sizzling hot on our table. To me it was a great dish where all the tastes blended so well in the claypot. We had it with salted fish and also chinese sausage, I love my claypot chicken rice even more when there's salted fish!

Added an egg for RM0.50

Soup of the day: hamchoi duck soup (RM5)
Love it! Maybe because I am a big fan of hamchoi :p

Total bill costed RM25.50 which filled our stomach so muchhhhh. Definitely worth it! Will come back again for this delicious claypot chicken rice.

Yeast Bistronomy, Bangsar

Yeast Bistronomy, established in 2012, located at Jalan Telawi 2, serves meals following the French tradition. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. They also serve bread and pastries here. They have another branch in Mid Valley Megamall now. Went there with my cousins to give it a try. We went there around 2pm in the afternoon, there wasn't much crowd probably because it was not lunch hour. There are some seats outside the bistro and you can choose to dine indoor or outdoor. 4 of us decided to share our plates so we ordered 3 main dishes and 2 desserts. They do provide take away service here for bread and pastries too.

Croissant au Jambon et au Fromage (RM21)
Turkey Ham and Gruyere Cheese Croissant, served with green salad.
This is goooooood!

Le Gourmet Burger (RM28)
Gourmet grilled Angus Beef burger, truffled mushrooms, caramelized onions, served with fries and coleslaw.
Personally think this was just normal, the beef patty doesn't taste as good as what I've expected.
But their fries are good! Lol.

Quiche du Jour. (RM21)
Quiche of the day. Can't tell exactly what's inside but I ate ham, cheese and cream, tasted superb!

Chocolate Mocha Tart (RM16)
Delicieux! The chocolate and mocha mixed very well it tasted just right!

Strawberry tart (RM18)
Love how the sweet custard blend so well with the sourness of the strawberry, thumbs up!

All prices are subject to 10% service charge and 6% gst. The kitchen closes at 3pm and reopens at 6pm. It is better to make reservation before you come during peak hours or public holidays!

Fuego is a restaurant which serves South American cuisine. It is located at 23rd floor of Troika Tower B. There are another 2 restaurants and 1 bar on the same floor here which are Cantaloupe, Strato and Claret. Fuego opens from 6-11pm everyday and they serve dinner for 2 seatings which are 6pm-8pm & 8pm onwards. Kindly make your reservation before you come because most of the time the restaurant is full house. Fuego is an open air restaurant facing KLCC where you get magnificent view while enjoying your dinner. This is my second visit here and I really love this place.

Sides.

I didn't order any desserts during this visit. Overall was good, I would really love to come here again in the future to try out other dishes on the menu. The staffs are really kind and attentive, service was good. Oh ya, as I've mentioned above, the restaurant is an open air restaurant, during my visit it was a rainy day and the tables that are located nearer to the outer part of the restaurant get a little bit of rain pour and I had to move my table in but that would be fine if the weather is good.

The Point Restaurant & Bar, KL

Hello! I had a dinner date with the boyfriend at The Point. The Point Restaurant & Bar located at Jalan Kasah, Medan Damansara. It's located at the same row as La Risata and the restaurant is on the first floor while the bar is on the second floor. The restaurant offers fusion style dining inspired by European, Asian and Mediterranean flavours. I like the setting and atmosphere of the restaurant even though it isn't quite big as compare to other restaurants. Due to the festive seasons, they do provide Xmas and New Year set menu too but we chose to have the normal a la carte menu.

We both shared one entrée and we had this.
Seared Hokkaido Scallops with Cauliflower Puree, Kelp Soil, Truffle Emulsion & Seaweed Foam. (RM46)
Love the cauliflower puree! Lol.

My mains
Pan Roasted Black Cod with Fennel Gratin, Snow Peas, Asparagus, Avruga Caviar, Ginger & Scallion Broth (RM60)
Tasty but still, I love the Cod I had at Le Midi last time the most.

Boyfriend's mains.
Slow Roasted Chicken with Roasted Potatoes, Fried Quinoa, French Bean & Curry Leaf Infused Butter Sauce. (RM40)
Find this normal but we like the sauce.

We shared the dessert too.
Bailey's & Kahlua Crème Brûlée (RM26)
Boyfriend likes it very much.

Had a good dining experience here, the staffs are very attentive as well.
The prices are subject to 10% service tax and 6% GST.

SJ Night
Convo
Feseni

Third Year

Convo

Afternoon Tea at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

This was my second visit to the Colonial Cafe at The Majestic Hotel KL for their afternoon tea, the first time was 2 years back. I remembered that I enjoyed a lot during my first visit. It was my best friend birthday last week, she said that she wanted a tea session as her birthday celebration and we both decided to come here again. They do take walk-ins but I've made reservation few days earlier to avoid disappointment upon our visit. They do provide different kinds of rooms with different rates for their afternoon tea. There are Orchid Conservatory (RM88++ per pax), Drawing Room (RM68++ per pax) and the Colonial Cafe (RM58 nett per pax). I'm not sure about the rates for both the Orchid Conservatory and Drawing Room now as those prices mentioned above were the previous rates. We went for the basic afternoon tea at the Colonial Cafe. Their staffs were very attentive and friendly, we were served right away upon our arrival.

Very lovely ambiance they have there.

This is the set for 2 persons.
They provide unlimited refill for the tea that comes with the set.
They do have other choices of tea and you can always top up to other selections of tea.
After our tea set was served, the staff slowly explained the selection of food tier by tier to us.
Really like their great services.
There was also pianist playing the piano through out the tea session. We can enjoy great music and our tea at the same time, it was so soothing and relaxing!

The tea set include sweet desserts like cakes and tarts, scones, sandwiches and hot savories.
It seems like the portion is quite small for two persons but we couldn't finish them!
Especially the scones, they were very filling!

Two different kinds of scones, plain scones and scone with raisins.
And of course, cream and jam the perfect matches for scones.

Sandwiches which include smoked salmon, tuna, egg, chicken and vegetarian pesto.

Hot savories which include cheese sticks, coconut balls and lamb pies.
I personally love the lamb pie!

RM58 nett per pax for the tea set may seems a bit pricey but we also pay for the beautiful environment and excellent service. I think it's worth a try if you are looking for afternoon tea place, if you want a fresher environment you can opt for the Orchid Conservatory or if you prefer enjoying your tea quietly, go for the Drawing Room.
Their afternoon tea is served from 3pm-6pm daily. It's better to make reservation instead of walk-in.

Palsaik Korean BBQ Restaurant, Solaris Mont Kiara

Palsaik Korean BBQ Restaurant their first branch in Solaris Mont Kiara last year if I'm not mistaken. It's located at the first floor of the block J, which is right above MOC. "Palsaik" means 8 colours in Korean. And yes, they have 8 kind of different flavours of pork belly in 8 different colours as well. Their main menu is very simple as they only have 3 different sets to choose from. They do have side menu and beverage to add one but the choices are limited.

The 3 main sets are :
1. 3 colours set with pork belly for 2 pax, seafood soup, kimchi or deodeok. (RM92)
2. 8 colours set with pork belly for 3-4 pax and seafood soup. (RM122)
3. Premium set with 8 colours of pork belly for 3-4pax, seafood soup, premium kimchi and deodeok. (RM148)
All prices are exlcusive of 6% GST.
We went in a group of 4 and we had the set 2. There are salads, sauce and different kind of vegetables that come together with the set. They do provide free water for everyone and it's refillable.

That one row of vegetables placed in a wooden plate beside the table comes together with the set.

The seafood soup, as you can see it's clear soup now.
We have basic kimchi and sprouts in this set as well.

The 8 flavours of pork belly. Pardon the photography skills.
They were placed on the side of our table too.
The wooden tray was printed with flavours of the respective marinated pork belly.
The 8 flavours are ginseng, wine, pine, garlic, herb, curry, soy bean and hot pepper.
We don't have to grill the pork belly ourselves, the waiters will help us in cooking them.
They cooked the pork belly according to the placing of the pork in the plate.
So the sequence went exactly like how I stated them above.

The seafood soup.
Remember that I mentioned above that it was a clear soup, after being cooked for a while, the waiter stirred the soup and we noticed there were some special sauce underneath the soup and it turned out to be like this. It wasn't spicy for 4 of us.

The services were really fast and overall it was quite okayy but I think the flavouring of the porks could have been stronger as we can't really differentiate which is which without referring to the tray. And I guess because it's weekend so there were more crowd during that time, chances of having to queue during weekend is quite high. The prices are reasonable as compared to some other korean restaurants. They do have a few branches now, check out their website for more info.

Fukuya

Fukuya, or literally translated as The House of Happiness according to their website, serves authentic japanese cuisine. I knew about this restaurant from a friend, I did some online research on it and decided to give it a try! Fukuya is located at Jalan Delima, which is just right beside Levain. They do provide parking for customers in front of their restaurant. The restaurant was designed in the idea of reminiscing the wealthy family home back in those times. Too bad it was a rainy day and I didn't manage to snap any photo of the restaurant but I can tell it looks exactly like what they shown in their website! I love the ambiance and setting of the restaurant, they do have small tables suitable for intimates dates and large table for a group meal and even a few private rooms for customers who made special reservation. My boyfriend made reservation earlier just to avoid disappointment upon our visit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the staff and were led to our table. They provide set menu as well as a la carte menu. We decided to have traditional set dinner menu or known as Yu-Shoku Zen. I had sashimi set (RM110) and my boyfriend had tempura set (RM92).

Appetizer.
Grilled scallop, tamago, eggplant, jellyfish, shishamo and fried fish.

Chawanmushi. I love this!

Sashimi that comes together with tempura set but boyfriend doesn't eat sashimi so I had them all.
And yes, the tempura for my set went into his stomach.
Too bad I forgot to take a photo of it.

My main course.
Rice, pickles, miso soup and assorted sashimi.

His main course.

Honey dew as dessert.
Very fresh and sweet!

Overall, it was a great dining experience. Their staffs were very attentive and the pacing of the meal was consistent but I wish it could be slower by a bit for slow eater like me. Would come back to try our their kaiseki next time.
